Privacy Policy

Keeply — Link & Note Manager ("Keeply", "the Extension") respects your privacy. Keeply helps you organize browser tabs, links, and notes into collections for productivity purposes.

Keeply is local-first. All of your data is stored on your own device by default, and no account is required to use the Extension. Cloud Sync and Keeply accounts are entirely optional features that you choose to turn on.

This policy explains what data Keeply handles, what it never collects, where your data is stored, and the choices available to you.

Local-first storage is a core principle of Keeply. By default, the following are stored only on your device using the Chrome Storage API:

• •Saved Tabs / Links
• •Notes
• •Collections
• •Extension settings

No data is uploaded to Keeply servers unless you explicitly enable Cloud Sync.

You can use Keeply indefinitely without creating an account, without signing in, and without any of your data ever leaving your device.

You may optionally create a Keeply account using either of the following methods:

• •Email address and password
• •Google Sign-In (optional)

Creating an account is never required. An account exists only to enable optional features such as Cloud Sync across your devices.

Cloud Sync is an optional feature that is turned off by default. If you enable it, Keeply securely synchronizes the following to your Keeply account:

• •Links you have saved
• •Notes you have written
• •Collections you have created
• •Workspace metadata — collection titles, ordering, and the settings required for synchronization

Cloud Sync exists for one purpose only: to keep your own data consistent across the devices where you are signed in. Your synchronized data is never used for advertising, profiling, or resale.

Keeply always saves your changes to local storage first. When Cloud Sync is enabled, synchronization then happens in the background so it does not interrupt your work.

If synchronization temporarily fails — for example because you have no internet connection, the network is interrupted, or there is a temporary server issue — You may retries later to save.

You can continue using the Extension normally while offline. Your data stays available on your device regardless of synchronization status.

If you do not create an account, Keeply collects nothing at all. If you choose to create an account or enable Cloud Sync, the following data is handled:

• •Name — if you provide one, or as supplied by Google Sign-In
• •Email address — used to identify your account and verify ownership
• •Authentication token — used to keep you securely signed in
• •Links, notes, and collections — only when Cloud Sync is enabled
• •Synchronization metadata — such as collection titles, ordering, and timestamps needed to sync correctly

Keeply does not collect any of the following:

• ✕Browsing history
• ✕Passwords from websites you visit
• ✕Payment or financial information
• ✕Keystrokes
• ✕Microphone data
• ✕Camera data
• ✕Location data
• ✕Personal documents or files
• ✕Website content that you do not explicitly choose to save

You decide exactly what gets saved into Keeply. Nothing is captured automatically in the background.

Local Mode (default)

By default, your links, notes, collections, and settings are stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API. No Keeply servers are involved, and the data is not accessible to the developer or to any third party.

Cloud Sync (optional)

If you enable Cloud Sync, your synchronized data is securely stored on Keeply servers using trusted infrastructure providers, solely so that it can be synchronized across your devices. Your local copy always remains on your device as well.

When you create an account with an email address, Keeply verifies that you own that address by sending a one-time verification code (OTP).

• •The code is temporary and expires automatically
• •It is used only to verify your account
• •It is never reused for any other purpose

• •Passwords are securely hashed before storage
• •Passwords are never stored in plain text
• •Authentication uses secure API tokens rather than transmitting your password repeatedly

Neither the developer nor any third party can read your password.

When you log out of your Keeply account:

• •Your authentication tokens are removed from the device
• •Cloud synchronization stops

Logging out does not delete your local data. Your links, notes, and collections remain on your device, and you can keep using Keeply in local mode.

You can permanently delete your Keeply account at any time. When you do:

• •All of your cloud data is permanently deleted
• •Your account information is removed
• •Your authentication credentials are removed

During deletion you choose what happens to the copy on your device: you can keep your local data and continue using Keeply in local mode, or delete your local data as well. This choice is yours.

Google Sign-In is optional. If you use it, Keeply requests only your basic profile information and your email address, using these scopes:

• •https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email
• •https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile

Keeply does not access any other Google data, including:

• ✕Gmail
• ✕Google Drive
• ✕Contacts
• ✕Calendar
• ✕Photos

If additional permissions were ever required in the future, they would be requested explicitly and this policy would be updated first.

Keeply requests the minimum permissions needed for its features. Each one is explained below.

Keeply replaces the default Chrome new tab page with its own dashboard, so you can quickly reach your saved collections, links, and notes whenever you open a new tab.

The new tab page reads only your own saved Keeply data. It does not collect, transmit, or store your browsing activity.

Keeply does not:

• ✕Sell your data
• ✕Share or transfer your data to third parties for their own purposes
• ✕Use your data for advertising or profiling
• ✕Use analytics or tracking tools inside the Extension

Data is processed on Keeply servers only when you enable account features or Cloud Sync, and only to provide those features to you.

Keeply applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:

• •HTTPS for all network communication
• •Encrypted data transmission between the Extension and Keeply servers
• •Securely hashed passwords
• •Secure authentication tokens
• •Authenticated API access, so only you can reach your own synchronized data

No online service can promise absolute security, and we do not claim to. In local mode, your data never leaves your device at all, which remains the default.

Keeply uses the following third-party services, and only for the purposes described:

• •Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in with Google
• •An email delivery provider — used to send account verification codes

If you use Keeply in local mode without an account, none of these services are involved.

You remain in control of your data at all times. You can:

• •Use Keeply entirely without an account
• •Choose whether to enable or disable Cloud Sync
• •Log out at any time and keep using local mode
• •Permanently delete your cloud data
• •Permanently delete your account, and choose whether to keep or remove your local data
• •Contact us with any question or request regarding your privacy

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Contact us using the details below and we will respond.

If future updates introduce new features that require additional data collection or external services, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are released, and the "Last Updated" date above will change.
